NB first then Steam games that do not load their own configs (at least do not pop-up notification of loading own configs), input not accepted.ДЄdditional testing actually showed the 'persistent' effect on other games not to be guaranteed but still replicable. Other Steam games with/without their own configs, no issues. No controller issues at all.ДЄfter trying non Steam games, started Narita Boy again and still not accepting input. My controller worked perfectly for every single game.

in the same day I played ender lillies, this demo here, hobo cat demo, minute islands demo, fall guys, and a little metal unit. Tried to be as clear as I can, not sure I succeeded. (This was across the course of a day so some time in between games.) Then I played Remnant which doesn't load its own config. I then tried Narita boy demo which also loads a config. Yesterday I loaded Vigil first which sets its own controller config. Reloading the Narita Boy demo always loads the demo's gamepad config so ofc no change there. I tried reloading Remnant after Vigil to see if that changed anything but Remnant still isn't accepting input. Remnant has no such pop up so I guess it's using whatever config has already been set. The difference between Remnant and Vigil seems to be that Vigil always has the pop up that steam has loaded the 'official configuration' for the latter. I then tried a third game (Vigil, again played yesterday without incident) and found that it was accepting controller input. Moving onto another game (Remnant, which I played yesterday without incident) I've found that now it isn't accepting input from the controller.
